Wednesday Morning Bible Study – Spring 2024
Ecclesiastes (Teacher)
At the beginning of Ecclesiastes, the Teacher asks the question “What do people gain from all the toil at which they toil under the sun?” The rest of the book explores the answer. Ecclesiastes is perplexing. At times it not only seems to contradict other parts of the Bible but seems to contradict itself. It is often pessimistic and outright depressing. Yet more phrases have entered the English language from this book than any other book of the Bible. Many works of literature quote it or reference it as do many songs.
