1 Thessalonians is believed to be the oldest book in the New Testament. It was the first epistle written by Paul to a church in Thessalonica that Paul founded but was forced to leave before he could give them full instructions on the Gospel.

10 January Session One
We will study the background of 1 Thessalonians and the structure of epistles. Chapter One: Paul sends his greetings.
17 January Session Two
Chapter Two: Paul defends himself against slander spread by opponents of the Gospel.
24 January Session Three
Chapter Three: Paul is concerned for the spiritual well-being of the Thessalonians and so sends Timothy to them. Timothy returns with a good report.
31 January Session Four
Chapter Four: Paul gives instructions on living to please God. He also corrects a misunderstanding about the second coming of Christ.
7 February Session Five
Chapter five: Paul continues teaching about the second coming of Christ and gives final instructions on how to live as Christians.
