All Saints Episcopal Church
Wednesday Morning Bible Study
“The Advent of the Messiah”
The Gospel of Luke opens with an account of the birth of Jesus and of his cousin, John the Baptist. As the narratives unfold, the author incorporates three poetic passages which were destined to become part of the liturgical music of the Christian church. — The Magnificat, The Benedictus, and the Nunc Dimittis.
This year, as we prepare for the celebration of The Nativity, the Wednesday morning Bible study group will be exploring these three wonderful passages of scripture. What do these three poems tell us about the mystery of the Incarnation? And, what do they imply concerning the Gospel message?
You are invited to join us on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 for an hour of lively discussion and group reflection. Each week we conclude our time together with the Noon Office found on pages 103-107 in the Book of Common Prayer.
