Stay on Course
Coming home from State College after the night time fog has rolled in, is not fun. Yet the yellow line down the middle of RT 192 makes it possible to go 35mph, a bit down from the usual 55+. The fog was a challenge, yet having the yellow line for focus enables us to stay on course.
Jacob’s sons were to be the People of God and witness to other peoples of the earth. However, the jealousy for Joseph for them off track, off mission, they lost their focus.
St. Pete walking toward Jesus on the sea of Galilee also lost focus as the waves and the wind distracted him. He began to sink until Jesus stretched out his hand to save him.
Jealousy, the wind & waves, and fog, all ten to distract us from our mission to be the People of God, the People who
“Love the Lord our God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength” and “Love your neighbor as yourself”
Mark 12: 29-31
