Spring 2017 – Wednesday Morning Bible Study
Six Parables of Jesus
“Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables; without a parable he told them nothing. This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet: “I will open my mouth to speak in parables; I will proclaim what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.” Matthew 13
A parable is a brief allegorical story intended to teach or illustrate some truth or spiritual principle. In the sayings of Jesus recorded in the gospel narratives we find many such stories. This spring in the Wednesday Morning Bible Study sessions we will be revisiting six of the best known parables of Jesus. As we discuss these parables we will be focusing on the practical implications for our everyday lives. This group meets in the parish library every Wednesday morning at 10:30.
